We’re featured in Her Majesty’s Official Platinum Jubilee Book
We are delighted and proud that Morris Care was selected to feature in what has to be the most glorious royal book published about Her Majesty the Queen.
The magnificent Jubilee hardback publication, Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album features more than 200 photographs of The Queen’s 70 year reign and features a page on Shrewsbury’s 152 year old Morris family business and its Morris Care group of nursing homes.
The only official book published by St James’s House and written by royal authors Robert Jobson and Katie Nicholl, it provides a unique window into Her Majesty’s decades of service and features ‘a select number of outstanding individuals and organisations from across the country’.
Robin Morris, Chairman for the Morris Group, commented: “This beautiful hardback book charts the trials and triumphs of The Queen’s 70-year reign and we feel honoured to be invited to support and be included in its pages.”
Lucy Holl, our Chief Executive, explained: “Our residents have so enjoyed all the positivity that the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has brought into our homes. From planting trees for the Queen’s Green Canopy to canape and cocktail evenings and garlanded garden parties, each of our homes has loved reminiscing and celebrating the Queen’s momentous occasion. We were even lucky enough to attract the BBC to come and film at Isle Court Nursing Home with Anton Du Beke – which was icing on our Jubilee cake!
Robin concluded: “We are looking forward to presenting a copy of this incredible book to each of our six homes which captures the spirit of the Jubilee and will remind our residents what a special celebration we enjoyed.”Back to news

Our Love2Care Award Winners Revealed
Six outstanding employees from our Nursing Homes across Shropshire and Cheshire were celebrated at our first annual awards ceremony, the Love2Care Awards on Wednesday 2nd November at our Welsh Bridge Head Office in Shrewsbury.
Over the last year, 160 members of staff were nominated by their peers for a Love2Care award. After a challenging selection process, judges announced six outstanding winners who they felt truly embodied Morris Care’s values.
At the lunchtime event, the winners were presented with engraved awards, flowers and £500 by Robin and Chris Morris.
Morris Care’s Chief Executive Lucy Holl said: “Today was a true celebration of our six winners who have really shone this year. More than 25% of our 600 strong team received nominations and it was very humbling to read them. I would, however, like to take this occasion to also extend a genuine thank you to every member of our staff for their outstanding contribution. Each of you makes a difference to the lives of those who live with us in our homes.”
Our gardens set to turn purple thanks to rotary donation
The gardening team at Morris Care has been presented with 400 purple crocus corms that will bring swathes of purple to their gardens and highlight the continuing fight to eradicate polio around the world.
