Young entrepreneur accolade for former SYST mentee

Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST) and members of its Asystor programme were delighted that former mentee, Bethany Thomlinson from Lyfbar, has been crowned Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the West Midlands FSB Awards.

The event, held at RAF Cosford, celebrates the creativity and endeavour of small firms across the region with Bethany taking the crown for her vision to promote balance to the online fitness community with her fast but nutritious food.

Business partners Alex Archibald and Bethany Tomlinson, who launched their healthy food eatery Lyfbar in Lawley over three years ago, were initially finalists in the 2020 Awards so it was doubly sweet to win the category this time round.

Bethany commented: “We are incredibly honoured to be awarded such recognition from the FSB and it is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who have worked tirelessly to create a unique, innovative dining experience for our customers. Winning this award has not only brought us great pride, but also serves as a reminder of our commitment to excellence and our passion for the culinary arts.

“At the beginning of our journey we were lucky to work closely with members of the Asystor panel who gave us valuable insights and guidance as we set up our business and who remain staunch supporters of what we do!”

The Asystors are a group of Shropshire businesses committed to helping young people to kick start their business dreams with guidance and funding. *

The Telford based company were thrilled to learn that they had won £1,000 worth of marketing spend through one of the sponsors, Reach Solutions. “This will allow us to further promote our restaurant and reach an even wider audience, helping us grow and continue to provide exceptional service to our customers.” Bethany added.
