Charity

We love to support a whole range of local causes close to our hearts.

From taking part in our local Dragon Boat Festival to raise funds for Severn Hospice, to auctioning a free stay at our Marrington Estate for Lingen Davies Cancer Appeal – we’re passionate about making a difference.

Our Charity of the Year

Each year we choose a corporate ‘charity of the year’ for which we undertake activities to not only help us raise vital funds but bring us together as colleagues with a common purpose and passion. In 2023, we have chosen Severn Hospice as our worthy local charity.

Severn Hospice provide specialist care and support free of charge to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness.

5k Local Charity Run

A Morris team donned their shirts to run 5k for Shropshire based charity the Henry Angell-James Memorial Trust which raises funds to donate lifesaving AEDs to communities unable to afford the equipment.

Shropshire Mental Health Support

Last year, everyone felt strongly about getting involved and supporting our corporate charity, Shropshire Mental Health Support (SMHS). This is an incredible local organisation providing vital help to people in our community. We had fun with a series of events including cake bakes, dress down Fridays and a Christmas Jumper Day to raise money.

The SMHS Wellbeing Bus has visited our offices and construction sites with friendly onboard support and helpful signposting which many colleagues have welcomed.

Jail or Bail

Members of our team braved a night in jail to help raise funds for Midlands Air Ambulance. Luckily colleagues, family and friends took pity and donated over £1.640 to get them out and helped the charity overall raise more than £24,000 on the initiative.

Mos in Movember

Each year a selection of ‘Mo Bros’ use the power of their moustaches to create conversation and raise funds for men’s health, in particular Prostate Cancer. Last year the team sported moustaches to rival Tom Selleck and raised an incredible £2,508.
