Congratulations to Ben and Sam Tomlinson raising over £2,000 for Lingen Davies Cancer Support
Earlier this month, and ten years after losing their Grandpa, Ben and Sam Tomlinson took on an incredible eight-hour running challenge in Leeds in support of Lingen Davies Cancer Support. This challenge holds particular significance for us as Ben and Sam are the nephews of our colleague Claire Brown, while Philippa Bason is a member of the charity’s Shrewsbury fundraising committee.
The Ultra Loop in Leeds is an endurance event where runners have eight hours to complete as many laps as possible of a 5km course. Remarkably, Ben achieved his goal of running 40 miles, despite suffering a fall and battling painful cramp for the final three hours. He finished 14th out of 255 runners. His younger brother Sam wasn’t far behind, completing an impressive 37 miles and finishing 32nd.
Together, the brothers have raised more than £2,000 for the charity, which includes a £500 donation from Morris & Company’s ESG Team ahead of the run.
“The course was brutal, it was the hardest thing we’ve ever done,” said Ben, who came up with the idea with his brother and is incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
“We’d like to thank everyone who has so kindly donated, including Morris & Company for their generous support. This one’s for you, Grandpa.” | Donate here
