New Aldi store at Ketley Point handed over by Morris Property ahead of opening
Award-winning discount food retailer Aldi has taken handover of its new store at Ketley Point on Waterloo Road in Telford, following completion of the building by Morris Property.
Located on the former Shropshire Star site, where the daily newspaper was produced for more than half a century, the development marks a new chapter for a well-known local location, bringing the site back into active use and delivering a modern new food store for the community.
The building has been fitted out by Aldi ahead of the store opening to customers on Thursday 10th September.
Liz Lowe, Head of Development at Morris Property, said “We are proud to have handed over this important retail development at Ketley Point, transforming this well-known site into a modern, high-quality food store that will serve the local community well for years to come.
“This project not only supports job creation but demonstrates our commitment to investing in the region and delivering schemes that bring long-term economic and social value.”
A spokesperson for Aldi added: “We are pleased to have taken handover of our new store at Ketley Point and look forward to opening.
“The new store represents a significant investment in Telford and will create up to 40 new local jobs, while making it easier for local residents to access Aldi’s award-winning range of high-quality, affordable groceries.
“We would like to thank Morris Property for delivering the completed building and look forward to welcoming customers.”
The remainder of the Ketley Point site is being developed by Morris Property and includes a 45,898 sq ft distribution warehouse, due for completion later this year.
