Morris sponsor a Beehive at Shropshire Beekeepers Association

We’re proud to announce our sponsorship of a beehive at the Shropshire Beekeepers Association in Shrewsbury, supporting the association’s conservation work, including the preservation of Shrewsbury’s ancient wells.

Sam Parker and Helena Blain from Marketing and Sabrina Meek from Finance visited the apiary to meet John Adams, Chair, Education Lead and ADM Representative, and Emma Woodhouse, Health and Safety Consultant at Walker Health and Safety Services Limited, who introduced the sponsorship opportunity.

The team enjoyed a guided tour with John, who shared the history of the association. Founded in 1875, it is one of the oldest beekeeping societies in the UK and one of the first organisations to join the British Beekeepers Association. Committee members and volunteers have transformed the Conduit Head site from a derelict area into a thriving haven for wildlife, education and visitors.

The visit also included the chance to suit up in protective equipment and observe the hives up close, giving the team a greater appreciation of the skill and dedication involved in beekeeping.

Bees pollinate much of the food we rely on and play a vital role in supporting biodiversity and healthy habitats. At Morris we are committed to supporting the communities and environment around us, and we are delighted to support the association’s important work in wildlife conservation and environmental education.
