Morris Property wins contract to build prime site unit

A leading Shropshire construction company has won a £3.15m contract to build an office and warehouse development at a Telford industrial estate.

Morris Property has started work at the prime site at Hortonwood West this month (January) on behalf of Trebor Developments. The 70,504 ft² facility is expected to be completed in July 2020 and will be made available to let or freehold.

It will be the seventh unit that Morris Property has built at Hortonwood West and the largest speculative industrial unit in Telford developed in the last 10 years.

James West, Chief Operating Officer for Morris Property, said: “We have a proven track record of delivering quality builds on time and on budget at this location. We are delighted to have won this substantial contract following a competitive tender.”

Mike Wright (Partner) of Trebor Developments said: “We are confident that Morris Property will build the unit to our normal high quality. This is the largest industrial speculative unit in Telford to be delivered in the last 10 years and is already generating a lot of interest.

“We believe it will appeal to existing Telford occupiers seeking modern and efficient premises and incoming businesses alike.”

The scheme is known as Ore 70 and will feature a steel framed building with offices on the ground and first-floor. It has been designed by AJA Architects.

Trebor/Hillwood are represented by Bulleys Bradbury (Telford/Wolverhampton offices) and Lambert Smith Hampton (Birmingham).
